Not news to anyone here, but it does beg the question why we allow the press to print blatantly misleading stories like these.

Not a single Daily Over-Expressive/InExactaweather reader will take any notice, but it is great entertainment value to stir them up. The same goes for all climate deniers, racists, misogynists, xenophobics, humananity-haters and UK haters. The idiots absolutely detest being shown up and it is completely hilarious, so well done bruce! You can bet your bottom dollar that Powell will read this newsgroup, as he will monitor other newsgroups for criticisms. Narcissists do. And he'll hopefully read - and completely dismiss - your well-directed criticism. laughing |

The serious side to this is that although us lot on here are lucky enough to know enough about the weather to disniss this as ludicrous nonsense and just laugh at it,others may not be so fortunate. Imagine being a pensioner, living on your own, who is already worried about fuel costs. They won't know the difference between these charlatans and the Met Office, they will be scared ****less about forecasts of the biggest freeze since the last ice age. I had to tell him, as gently as possible, that they peddled absolute nonsense and he should use the Met Office. He's got a brain all right but he doesn't know much about meteorology - few people do.
