But seriously, although the pollution is there, surely it is less than in past years for the same set of conditions? Perhaps nitrogen dioxide is higher due to sheer number of diesel vehicles but with less coal being burnt here and on the Continent and the overall improvement in vehicle emissions it is hard to imagine it as dire as is being portrayed.
