Added a blog with my estimated rainfall accumulations for this morning that I put together from the weather radar images from the Met Office.
Values for here look good, but it's difficult to evaluate because the heaviest of the rain seems to have been through central Devon.

A nice back edge to this cold front visible on the latest satellite imagery now well into Cornwall, so at least the day will end well.

I think you are right about central Devon Bruce.
Had 7.8 mm in my 5 inch gauge 0915 to 1300 BST.

Still a nice amount for the garden.
Brilliant sunshine now.

Amounts look pretty good. Circa 25mm here in Haytor. So a good inch,
marvelous for the garden!

But you are in a dry part of the UK, an inch of rain in Devon is nothing!

I know the climate here ebbs and flows but the dry spells here seem to be getting more pronounced. There's a lake in my local park, the level of which has been falling for months despite the fact that they pump in well water to counteract it.

13.2 mm of much needed rain here today.

Will, not all people live on Dartmoor! An inch of rain is lot for here.

My annual rainfall is around 700 to 800 mm with most of that
occurring October to January. I reckon the summer rainfall total
for here means that it is probably one of the drier places in the
British Isles during the April to September period.

Fair go. I must admit that I get blase about rainfall. Garden never goes
brown and shrubs never need watering. Just the veg and pots. Greenhouse is
self watering from rainfall flowing into a butt from the greenhouse gutters.

April to Sep dry season average rainfall for Haytor is 622 mm, not far off
your annual total :-)

A heavy rainfall day is anything over 40mm.
