Just for those who kindly wished me luck - I'm afraid it didn't go
ahead. They found an irregular heart beat problem just before I went down to surgery which now has to be sorted before I have it done. I am fine though and should be able to be fixed and after all hearts come before knees in the pecking order! Thanks again , Dave |

This must be enormously frustrating as you would have been mentally prepared for the operation and the follow-up. Hope the heart problem is nothing significant. Best wishes. Colin Youngs Brussels |

Colin Youngs Brussels ------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Colin. Yes was a bit down till I realised that these things are better found and sorted. I seem fine now pending seeing the cardiac specialist. Apparently what I have is very common. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas over there. Dave |

Bad luck Dave. At least they're ticking things off in the right order!

Sorry to hear that, Dave. Better they found it then rather than mid-op. Hope you and your family enjoy a happy Christmas.

Hope you and your family have a great Christmas over there. Dave Indeed it is common Dave, I was diagnosed with probably something similar earlier in the year when the doctor did a routine check of the pulse and I'm amazed at how many people I've net since who have the same condition. Pretty well everyone ends up with it by the time we're 80! I'm still here, so there's hope for you yet. |

It's called "stresscheck". It basically analyses the pulsing blood at the tip of your finger placed over the camera lens. Worth getting. I also own a blood pressure monitor, proper job not a cheap effort that I use regularly. It's always worth monitoring your vital signs. Obviously if you are unsure about anything, see the doc. With my pulse high and all over the place and very high blood pressure. It is the single highest factor in increasing the risk of a stroke so they obviously weren't going to carry on and saw through my femur! Anyway the beta blocker tablet is brilliant. Back to where I used to be before this appeared out of nowhere.(Apparently not anxiety related) 125/75, 50 bpm, so okay I hope till the specialists have a good look. Never felt better and my putting and snooker should improve! Thanks everyone for your concern - I won't mention it again until after I've had the op done next time! Cheers, Dave |
