HTTP status code 401 is used to restrict access to a resource to
authenticated users only. So it looks as if you may have to be
logged in. Logged in to what, I don't know. I've only skimmed
this thread...

Works for me very quickly using Chrome and Windows Vista. No logging in just
a click on the automatically downloaded .pdf .
Took me 10 seconds from clicking on link to downloading and viewing the .pdf
..

Solved, but what a fiddle.
Posters on here gave me a clue with File and Open.

When I click on the link with IE I get the error message and 'Request not allowed'.
But then if I go up and click on File
and 'Open in immersive browser'

Up comes the graph in Adobe Acrobat.

So it does not seem to be the usual direct link for some users.

Thanks guys,

Sorry I haven't been much help with the IT issue, as I've been very busy at work on my first day back.

It's a Western Digital MyCloud Storage, I posted in the Public folder they provided, but I've only had it for about a month & I'm not a technophobe.

I hope those that have been able to view it appreciate the work.

My Cloud or your cloud or iCloud?

Just reports:

Works fine for me with just a standard desktop running win.xp and
no additional fancy whistles & bells.

Odd. It worked fine in Chrome under Windows 7 for me. However it did
call up Adobe Reader to display the PDF file that the link leads to.
Presumably you do have Adobe Reader on your system? The only other
explanation I can come up with is that your newsreader is breaking the -
very long - URL

Yes. If I click on "File ... Open" in IE and then copy the URL into the box, it opens in Adobe Acrobat. Clicking directly on the link does not work.
