Airport weather forecast office expansion
 
The Met Office have signed a 5-year deal with Easyjet to establish a weather
forecasting operation at Luton Airport.

Whatever next? Maybe we'll see High Street weather centres!

I've heard that the coverage at Heathrow is being upgraded to improve fog forecasting. There seems to be a change in spending policy - though it is sad that some long-running stations, such as Walton-on-the-Naze, closed toward the end of last year.

There's been forecasters at Heathrow for the past few winters. I
think it's more a case of embedding the forecasters within the
customer's business, as it has been proven to work.
