Blizzards in England? Good agreement in ensembles.
I'm wondering if I have planted out my greenhouse tomatoes too early :-)
Probably a lot of cold rain and wind low down, but above 200 metres???
If only it was January!

Everyone knows Mother Nature is very well aware of Surrey's first home
game of the County Cricket season which happens to be this Sunday.

And the London marathon if we are being SE-centric :-)
Could be very interesting anywhere above 200 metres next week from
Sunday onwards.

What is a 'nurse of ebony'?
Is this your way of saying that she was black?

In my current manifestation I identify myself as a person of British
ivory.

It's a pity you don't live in perfect harmony.

Been reading CB's latest thread on ukmc?

Might have been
Although it would probably have ocurred to me anyway.

Oh, and we even got a reference to 'Mammy Two Shoes', the black
housemaid character from the Tom & Jerry cartoons

I'd didn't realise she'd ever been named?

I don't think the name was ever used in the cartoons themselves but
simply to reference her as one of the characters. Otherwise it would
have just been 'the housemaid'.

who is these days
widely consdered to be a racial stereotype.

Surely that applies to a lot of TV characters though, especially from
older shows?

it probably does but the vast majority ofpeople wouldn't care to bandy
those around either when describing people.
