Sunshine here has been dire too with the total up to 134 hours so far.
My average for June for the last 10 years is 224 hours.

And it has been soggy as well. Rainfall currently at 99 mm. That's over
twice the normal. It was only a week or so ago that we were into
environmental drought conditions with the countryside going merrily brown.

Here in SW Devon I have reached 89 mm in my 5 inch gauge for June.
Sure to go over 100 mm with today's rain.
My 30 year June average 1986-2015 is 66 mm.

Other occasions when 100 mm has been exceeded are
1986 115mm
1991 126mm
1997 124mm
2012 179mm

After a wet morning both of the above are now history.

Approaching 170 mm (235%) up to 18.30, so it's the wettest June on record
(1960-2016)

June 2012 still stands out in Tideswell head and shoulders above anything else
with 211.8 mm. June this year falls well short with about 150 mm so far.

Here in Haytor June average is 97mm, currently we are on only 49.6mm (so
quite a dry month), we have missed all the thunderstorms. In 2012 I
collected 271.8mm (pretty wet, but did not make the magic 300!!!).
As is normal in convective months Haytor often stays dry and quite sunny.

A rare thing is about to happen then Will. I will have recorded over
twice as much rainfall as you have. Now, how many times has that
happened before...

Then again, I did cop nearly 70 mm of my 99.7 mm total during 3
thunderstorms.

Your rainfall total for this June would still be above my eLTA, so here
this month has been very, very wet.
