There's plenty of rubbish in this group about politics, but has no one noticed there's a hot spell coming up? Perhaps even for Dundee?
The GFS map I look at suggests it could get VERY hot. Anyone remember Hot Wednesday of 1808? Possibly 40C and 100 mm hailstones. (BTW I wonder whether it's worth reporting those who violate the remit of this group to Google as violating the terms of their service as spamming.) Trevor, that July in 1808 must have been quite something with birds 'dropping out of the sky' from heat exhaustion. A shame that it was before conventional measuring standards. Was 40C achieved that day? If the Synoptics were just right... https://wansteadmeteo.wordpress.com/...ritish-summer/

Trevor Harley writes snip (BTW I wonder whether it's worth reporting those who violate the remit of this group to Google as violating the terms of their service as spamming.) I very much doubt that they'd take any action. Though they make the contents of the newsgroups available, they don't have any responsibility for those newsgroups. I'm not even clear what effective action they /could/ take, short of refusing to disseminate usw at all. In any case, are all of the "offenders" using Google Groups for their newsfeed, or are some (like me) using different providers? -- John Hall "Banking was conceived in iniquity and born in sin" attributed to Sir Josiah Stamp, a former director of the Bank of England |

The "Royal Met Society photo competition" thread is interesting too! Cheers, Alastair. |

In 1976 the temperature on the roof of the London Weather Centre on 26 June was 29c at 10.00 BST On 10 August the temp at the same time quoted by the Met Office for London; 31c On 01 July 2015 Heathrow recorded 32.5c I think @ 10.00 BST with many places over 30c at that time. |

As for google, I'm afraid they wouldn't even be bothered to laugh at your complaint. *)) |
