A very dry month, just over 10% of average and also extremely sunny, though no records from me unfortunately.

There were frequent inversions, particularly noticeable at night. The inversions appear to affect the area mostly to our east and south-east, then there is a zone on higher ground to our west which is not affected. Beyond this zone are the mountains of the Auvergne, with the area around Mont Dore particularly affected. Although there was some snow there, they were unable to utilise snow making machines because of the inversions.

Mean max temps were warm, 1c warmer than November, the days were mostly gloriously sunny, apart from a damp week either side of Christmas.

Min temps were close to normal, but affected by the inversions. Perols-sur-Vezere close to us recorded a mean min of -3.6c and Brive on the lower plain was also probably colder, I hope to analyse some figures and report shortly. Ponds locally were frozen for much of the month.
