[CC] Lowest "all-time" maximum Arctic sea-ice extent ?
 

May have reached maximum extent on 26 Feb 2017, at 14.368 x10^6 sq km as
27 Feb had dropped to 14.341 and end of Feb is about the usual end of
the season.
Previous lowest maximum sea-ice extent for the Arctic , believed to be
14.517 x10^6 sq km, on 25 Feb 2015 (NSIDC method)

You need to wait at least another month before making any judgements on
that score; the maximum could occur any time during March. In 2012, the
extent was still greater in early April than the maximum achieved by the
end of February.

Fair enough, hence the "?" . But have you seen the projected temp
anomalies for the next 10 days, not totally positive but way biased to
the positive, seems a lack of projected storminess though

28 Feb had dropped to 14.326 and a majority of positive temp anomaly
over the next 10 days, and to make up at least 42,000 sq km looks
increasingly unlikely, let alone 174,000 sq km.

04 Mar 2017 upped to 14.377 so new maximum this season

JIC 07 Mar was the peak this year at 14.420, end of continous 8 day
upwards run, 08 Mar it dropped back to 14.410

JIC 07 Mar was the peak this year at 14.420, end of continous 8 day
upwards run, 08 Mar it dropped back to 14.410

16 Mar dropped back 30,000 from a third? peak of 14.405 x10^6 on 15
March, so 07 March may have been the lowest maximum Arctic sea-ice
extent on satellite era record.
