A few slight rain showers late afternoon and early evening on Thursday, and some just after dawn this morning. Overnight there was a period of rain which started around 2330z as heavy (max rate 12 mm/hr) but eased off to moderate before midnight, and persisted until about 0330z at 2-3 mm/hr. This gave around 9 mm of rain, to give a 24-hour total of 9.6 mm. The total since the 8th is 97.0 mm. Had a brief look at rainfall stats for the area yesterday evening, and the average annual rainfall around here is about 2200 mm - which is a bit more than the 600-700 mm that I'm used to! Currently there is very good visibility and convective clouds building strongly. Light southerly breeze.

A few slight rain showers since 1330z. The current shower looks much heavier to the east, I think we have just been clipped by it's western edge. Sunny intervals and variable amounts of convective cloud this afternoon. Mainly very good visibility. Maximum temperature so far today is 11.7 (1316z)..
