Notes on this Month's Weather: A cold and wintry month, some 2degC
colder than normal for here. However, March 2013 was somewhat colder.
Three colder periods all because of easterly winds 1st-6th, 17th-19th
and 30th-31st (this continues into April).
Notes on Specific Days: 27th February-4th March 112.5 hours continuous
air frost. 27th Feb-6th March continuous full snow cover. 1st and 2nd
frequent heavy snow showers with gusty winds leading to blowing snow and
blizzard conditions at times. Much local disruption. 1st-6th 2nd 25 cm
of level snow with drifts to 100 cm. 22nd-26th 31.15 hours of sunshine.
