He may be an excellent meteorologist, but the one piece of his that I've read so mangled the English language that it was almost impossible to understand what he was trying to say. Wishful thinking, and one could argue sensationalist. OK I might have to
eat my words in 5 or 6 days time but I can't see the Biscay low going anywhere particularly fast and I'd even put money on high pressure building over southern Scandinavia again with a thermal ridge over the UK. I personally dont think even the 528 will get into the UK let alone the s word! A just because there is a "Jeremy Handscomb" wrote in message ... I often think the American meteorologists treat our latitude in the
same mannor as the weather types for the same latitudes on their side of the pond. The effects of the relatively warm sea around our shores make a significant difference to the weather we get, and this is often the case when looking at some of the other model outputs. However, I always read with interest other views, opinions and the like, adds to the fascination of the subject for me. After all, it's the unpredictability that drives us on the subject. ![]() ================================================== ================== This posting expresses the personal view and opinions of the author. Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do. ================================================== ================== I think Joe may be basing his reasoning on the GFS runs which look extreme to me and are not backed up (in terms of cold intensity) by ECMWF or UKMO. Also the seas around the UK are still warmer than normal and so any northeasterly is likely to give rain on low ground anyway. As always extreme caution is required when weather forecasting and sensationalism has no part to play in this science.
