SYNOP: 41370 70111 10007 21002 40248 53001 77072 875// 333 82708 87650= Very slight snow falling - no more than a few flakes in the breeze. Patchy stratus underneath extensive high-based stratocumulus. Visibility generally very good or excellent. Surface wind N-NNE F3 becoming F4 after 0100z. Snow lying on the south Shropshire hills down to about 900 FT AMSL. Caradoc and parts of the Shropshire hills covered in low cloud, including the Long Mynd. Extensive stratocumulus above. Very good visibility. SYNOP: 11484 43607 10024 20005 40250 50000 69901 70171 84800 333 82812 83650= Low cloud lifted off the south Shropshire hills around 1100z and is now looking convective. Stratocumulus layer has become thinner and well broken. Excellent visibility.
