Steve. Just goes to prove the old adage

"All that gritters. Is not cold"

comment made by lawrence jenkins

Is that a forecasters joke or did you make that up Lawrence?

I shall be using that one all winter now

I wonder what the best weather joke would be?

I enjoyed that one too.

Not jokes, quite but:

The eternal pessimist in my office used to say: "Every silver lining has a
cloud"

And an old head gardener at a large garden in East Sussex that I used to
know very well would prowl the grounds, his face set in a permanent scowl.
If you had the temerity to wish him: "Good day" he'd reply: "Yes, but it'll
be raining tomorrow." He hanged himself in the woods one very stormy
October night in (IIRC) 1990.
