Shows it's a complete load of cobblers. If old bill was any good, he'd
stick to his original forecast.
The first signs that his forecasts are ******** and he changes them.

Quote from Bill Giles:

There could be period of
particularly heavy rain and very strong winds on the 2nd or 3rd of
January.

Good giref! I'm REALLY DISAPPOINTED that he can't be MORE SPECIFIC -
what time will the rain start in Greater Manchester?? What will be the
maximum speed of the gusts at Mumbles and Heathrow? Will the M62 be
closed to high sided vehicles? Any localised flooding expected in the
Vale of York?

C'mon Bill, you can do better than this!

More or less likewise - Austrian Alps by mid-January please, but nothing
below 2000 feet in Scotland before then, please!

(Brian Blair - I'll be looking out for your reports from Aberfeldy - we are
going to bring in the New Year at Kenmore).

Let's face it, forget computer models, forget precedence - it's all
basically guesswork with a 50 per cent chance of getting it right. Weather
is fickle and changes at a whim. When it is as "foretold", three cheers for
whoever, but when it's completely wrong.....
