This guy, in my humble opinion, gives Long range Forecasts, such as those
from Roeder and Bartlett (who put in genuine hard work), a bad name. To say
what day it will rain etc. and give so much detail, is just mocking the
whole thing.
Or am I being too hard?

I'm hoping for at least 2..... first the Italian, then the Austrain Alps!

I sincerely hope I see snow for the first time on my birthday on Jan 20,
when I'm in Val D'Isere. If there isn't any there, then I know that I'm
cursed.

Well he's not exactly predicting it to the day, rather taking the
expected weather in two week periods and making reasonable
enough comments.
Trouble is, give too much detail and you're accused of trying to
do more than is possible and give too little and you're accused
of being so vague as to be useless

The only thig is, he has completely reversed his forecast for the
first half of Januarly from anticyclonic to low pressure dominated.
It could well happen that come Christmas day an anticyclonic
spell looks like developing, I hope he won't claim victory on his
first attempt!
