Walking on the Thames
Cross posted to uk.sci.weather as suggested.
"John Hall" wrote in message ... In article , Mike writes: Did the River Thames freeze over to such an extent that you could walk across, it in the Kingston/Teddington area, (non tidal) in 1938 - 1941 period? If I could only find my copy of the book "Surrey Weather" (or a similar title) written by Ian Currie, then I could probably give you a more definite answer. I suggest asking on uk.sci.weather, where Ian would be likely to see your post. I suspect that the answer is no, but it must have been close to being possible in January, 1940, which was a very cold month. -- John Hall "Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now."
