Has anybody noticed that the Topkarten website now gives daily SLP charts
going back to 1903? Interesting stuff!

Just looked at January and February 1947. Shame I wasn't alive then,
although I'd be older now :-0

Funny isn't it, that particular period was the first one I looked at,
closely followed by December 10th 1946, just to see if there were any
similarities to todays setup. Sad isn't it?

I was alive then, aged 4, so I don't remember it and from what my parents
told me subsequently I'm glad I didn't. They said I was a miserable and frozen
little thing, as was my brother, then aged 16 months. There was no such thing
as central heating and the lights kept going out. If Feb 2004 is like Feb 1947
I will be a miserable and frozen old bugger and I don't want it. Interesting
it may well be (yes!) but there's a time in one's life for everything and now
isn't it.

my parents told me about it, roads blocked for six weeks and having to
travel over fields by horse and cart.
I can live without it as well

Unfortunately, the only thing I need to leave the house for is food - I
can do all my work from home.

Though for those of us to whom Dec 1981 is about as close to Feb 1947
as they've ever experienced, it would be interesting indeed.
