Default Snow next Monday?

If this chart ever actually becomes reality, would we see snow along the
East coast on Monday 22 December?

Fingers crossed.

There's quite a difference between this chart from the 12z DT run and
the 06z DT run earlier on. The low over Scandanavia is there, but it's
in the Atlantic where the differences lie. The GFS has been very keen
in all runs to return back to the "climate norm" whereas the ECM, on the
last two runs, has been rather consistent in showing a rather blocked
pattern
with surface NE winds.

Given the scenario in the URL you give, I'd expect sleety/hail showers
over areas near to the coast but maybe snow further inland.

It's getting interesting now !

Still more hope than anything I think, but the charts are increasingly
becoming more wintry - which let's face it, they should be as January
approaches.

Please uncross them, Brendan, I need to drive up the east coast that day and
snow is the last thing I want to see. Just persuade it to slow down a bit,
and it can happily smother us all on Tuesday.

Well ... let it get deep and crisp and even on Wednesday morning, to give
them a chance to clear roads through it so that (a) my other half can get
here from Edinburgh on Wednesday evening and (b) I can get him, me, mother
and cousin to our Christmas lunch 30 miles away on Thursday, and without
disturbing the roads crews' Christmas Day either. After what lunch is
costing, I don't want to have to let it go to waste!

Happy Christmas to everyone - have a great time, and don't drink and drive!
