Well I got about 7 miles East towards the A9 this morning before i had to
swallow my pride and head back as the road began to disappear and the car began to fishtail. Currently moderate snow with about 2-3 cm accumulating, wet snowball snow at mo. Rained first and then turned to snow at about 07:45. No snow at Stirling at 0930 but snowing in Dunblane which is about 400 feet higher up and 6 miles North. I shall have a snowman by the afternoon, just watch brian aberfeldy ![]() |

Hi Brian
Been all rain so far here in Lanarkshire this morning, though I imagine some higher parts have had sleety mixture at times. I think we'll need to wait until this evening until it begins to turn white here. Gleneagles looks a riot at the moment: http://www.camvista.com/sports/golf/gleneag.php3 I think it might be a white out in your neck of the woods once the wind gets up later, keep us informed. Alex. Near Motherwell. "Brian Blair" wrote in message ... Paul Troon -- Paul Hi Paul Temperature now going through the same dip you witnessed as soon as pressure began to rise. From 5.2°C one hour ago to 2.0°C now. I'm sure it'll starting to snow in higher parts of the county now (200m+). I'm hoping this downward trend continues for another degree or so. Also coming up on the 20mm mark, 2nd wettest day of the year so far. Alex. near Motherwell. |

![]() Drove from Fife to FW & back today. Started *very* early! The car has a temperature included on the dashboard - it started at 1c (yes, I know it's not hugely accurate but...) and dropped to 02 by Drumochter Summit. However all roads were passable including that horrid one from Dalwhinnie to the A85. Conditions on the A9 were better on the way back but there was a *lot* of traffic, and on the long dual section south of Drumochter the outside lane was impassable (except rather slowly) both ways. Here in Fife it's above freezing and wet. It has been overcast & dull all day. Lots of 'take care' roads on the RAC web site for Scotland, including the A9 at Dunblane, lots of the A83, parts of the A9, the A84 at Lochearnhead and westwards, and the A82 through Glencoe. However all roads were passable including that horrid one from
Dalwhinnie to the A85. Five Cats :-( That's one of my favourite roads, ever since I lived in FW! In spite of all the alarums and warnings, my trip to Edinburgh on Saturday, and my return today, were all on black top (A96/A90) except for a dusting of snow at the Glens of Foudland on Saturday and the odd patch of slush around Kintore today. Snow lying either side of the roads most of the way however. And we had an interesting time going out for dinner in Edinburgh on Saturday, and an even more interesting one going home again afterwards. Both taxi drivers were grumbling about the traffic being dead slow and stop because of the snow. But most of it was gone by Sunday morning. Anne |
