As we slide into the umpteenth mild winter and there is not much to excite
our members (if you'll excuse the expression) what do we think of those newspaper daily weather reports from abroad faithfully churned out every day from such exotic far flung places as Bogata ,Caracas,Edmonton (probably not the N.19 one) Leipzig, Marrakech, Santiago, Taipei, to mention just a few. I suspect they were some of the favourite holiday haunts of the pre war newspaper editors perpetuated by generations of cub reporters who aren't too sure where Southend even is.. So I propose a competion should be held through this NG to come up with new resorts much more in keeping with the todays travelling public needs . I 'll kick off with Verkhoyansk, always wanted to go there ............. Happy New Year to all PS Please God , let it snow for Danny RonB |
