Weather Summary 2003 - Newbury, Berkshire
My first whole year of observing in more finer detail than usual is now
over. I therefore show my figures below for my sheltered suburban garden in Newbury. I hope this isn't too weak an effort (a bit amateurish) and is useful to someone. Yearly adjusted precipitation 9am 1/1/03 to 9am 1/1/04. 631mm Snow days in which was seen falling 11 Hail days 7 Thunder days 4 Ice days 2 Air frost days 46 Days Temp exceeded 30c 2 Days precipitation 25mm 1 Dry days 233 Trace days 12 Sorry I'm behind a few of the others on this NG by sending this out late but I've now had the figures checked out and am now satisfied I'm there. Here's to 2004 and all it's heat and storms??? Regards Tony Powell Suburban back garden, outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire |
Weather Summary 2003 - Newbury, Berkshire
Tony,
Well done in completing your first year's detailed records. But there are one or two figures that to me look a bit suspect. Only 2 days exceeding 30°C? I had 8 in August alone and 9 altogether, and I'm at 556 ft AMSL in Surrey. Also the 4 days thunder looks very low, though it may well be right. My figure was 11, one of the lower totals in 21 yrs record. The days of air frost agrees near enough with mine, as one might expect. Best wishes, Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |
