[WR] Unlimited visibility
Good evening, everyone.
The cold front (kata-front) that passed over Greece yesterday brought in some dry, continental air. The northwest of the country got some snow showers again, while it remained dry and milder in most of the rest regions. The most interesting part was the extremely good visibility that was reported throughout the country. Thessaloniki reported visibility to Mt. Olympus, Mt. Pilion and Mt. Dirfys on Evia island (!!!). The map below shows the following areas (noted black, from north to south): a) city of Thessaloniki b) Mt. Olympus c) Mt. Pilion d) Mt. Dirfys e) city of Athens f) eastern Peloponnese, which was visible from Athens, along with the Saronic isles in between. http://www.e-kairos.gr/GreeceMap.gif Yannis, SE Athens, expecting next week's return to cold weather +10.6C (dropping fast), Td -2C, RH 42%, SLP 1017.1 hPa |
