Just looked at the set of charts from the GFS, initialised at 18z. A
complete change in emphasis from the 12z run with now a suggestion that cold air will be advecting Westwards by next Sunday. Potential for some of the white stuff on the back edge of the trough.... I know it's a long way off and we need some more runs from a number of models to be more confident, but the roller coaster continues !!
