Rain, rain and more rain!

Why does the BBC forecast keeping saying patchy light rain for the
Midlands mostly in the east for Monday 16th January.
I'm in Stoke and it hasn't stopped all day, now up to 19.6mm (18.00gmt)
and still coming down!
Does the radar not tell them how bad it is?
Considering what was forecast we have done well to record the wettest
day of the year and it's still raining!

Do you not have a local weather service ? Here in the SW we have David Braine
and he is superb. It can be bucketing down here in Haytor with either dry
conditions or just drizzle lower down, but you can bet your bottom penny that
David would have mentioned that contrast. Quite often he shows charts with
maximum temperatures some 4 deg lower over the high moors than shown on the
national forecast (which are presumably for Exeter) and they are generally not
far off the mark judging by my readings. Check out your local forecast if you
can Graham.

Hi Will

This was our local forecast!!

I watch the main forecast at around 07.50 then the local forecast, both
did not mention the amount of rain we've had today.
On Midlands today (18.50) Shefali has just said the Potteries (ie

Stoke) has had some heavy rain today, she's not wrong there!

Looking at the forecasts this morning I really only expected a couple

of mm at the most, we are now up to 21.6mm and still raining (19.50)

Cheers for the reply anyway Will, always welcome,

Will,

Yes, I thought Craig would be a hard act to follow, but David Baraine is
doing a great job. He's even carrying on the surf forecast.

He was one of the best national forecasters in my opinion and I am not
surprised he is doing an excellent job in the SW.

Alan
