Why do you all want snow.

Ok , I love snow

Its nice and cool , romantic , fun for kids , even brings out a dunkirk
spirit in little communitys.

However , I know one person who will loose several days pay if he cannot get
to work. An elderly couple who need meals on wheels, and then theres the
countless idiots who will try and drive to work in the hope that the boss
says "well done. Have a medal" when in reality they get there and find no
other person has turned up.

Get a grip guys. Snow is nice when your 10 , not when your 50. I guess a lot
off you would change your minds if you ended up with severe weather damage
to you r houses , relatives in hospital due to slipping on ice.

For me , I will wake up , see 8inches of snow , close curtains and go back
to bed.

My ideal situation though will be to get to work , get snowed in for three
days , and cover the shifts who cant get to work. Loadsa Money

Some of us haven't seen "proper" snow in our lives! Only from the photo
albums of our seniors.

Doubt I ever will, but here's hoping.

I know people over 60 who were quite excited when i told them snow maybe on the
way.
If the system breaks down, well it's a crap system !

I'd gladly take unpaid leave if there was serious snow.

It will affect some people badly

says "well done. Have a medal" when in reality they get there and find no

Hopefully they will learn something from the experience.

I don't change my mind about stairs when relatives fall down them.

Sounds like fun.

That is what I plan on doing ;-)

Any excuse not to go to work.

As a London commuter who travels on the trains, what I want to know is.... will it be the right or
wrong type of snow?

Its much like people here wishing for severe gales and thunderstorms in the
summer, yes great to witness but sinister nonetheless i do think sometimes
people don't or are not aware of the consequences.

Hopefully, this time the tabloid newspaper which made that comment has since
actually got a journalist with a brain who actually knows that ice is
different at -5C than it is at 0C.

Not holding my breath though, their brains only recognise one thing in life
and it ain't to do with the weather ;-))

The fact is, people can die in traffic accidents any time of the year. People
can fall down the stairs, trip in the dark and so on.

Likewise, your house can easily be damaged by an electrical fire. Should we all
stop using electricity?

I haven't seen decent snow for nearly ten years, and I doubt I'll see any in the
next week either. If the public transportation infrastructure breaks down
because of a snowflake hitting London, then blame successive Governments for
cutting back on public services whilst whining how we all should be using them!

Paul.
