Just been doing the shopping and everyone is talking about the cold and snow
on the way. It's good to see that the Met Office succeed in getting the message across to the public still. According to one of the staff at Tesco coal and car supplies have rocketed in sales today. And of course the over-ramping of temperatures as low as -18C and blocked roads made me quietly chuckle. Tom Danbury, Essex (107m) |

I wonder how the public will react though if the forecast is wrong? They'll blame the met office for spending so much money on stocking up on food and fuel. |

Lets face it, the MO stand more chance of getting the forecast wrong than
they do of getting it right. I know my two kids will be deeply disappointed if we don't get the forecasted snow. Shaun Pudwell. "max" wrote in message ... No one expects them to be able to forecast snow that far in advance so why do they even attempt it with the attending high risk of egg-on-face? They'd have far more chance of being right 24 or 48 hours away, and that easily enough for most people to re-arrange journeys and so on. - Michael |
