The five day F/Cast shows for Sunday N/A
I assume the BBC means Not Available or
could it be Not Applicable ? Perhaps they cannot
decide what will happen on Sunday ? Perhaps
Sunday has been 'scrubbed' due to lack of interest ?

I hate to say this but notwithstanding POtocatypetle and a few others
and some M6 quakes too, the phases point to a settled period of stormy
weather:

JULY 13 19 21 =7:21 pm.
JULY 21 7 01
JULY 29 6 53
AUG. 5 7 28
AUG. 12 4 48. This should bring fine at last or if it continues wet
there will be a faily large quake soon after the 27th Aug. But if that
is wet too expect a real disaster early in September.

Countryfile
Sun 27 Jul, 11:30 am - 12:00 pm 30mins

Charlotte Smith has an investigation in to the alleged dangers pesticides
and other chemicals in our environment are causing to our health. And John
Craven has further information on how you can enter the Countryfile
photographic competition - with a video diary from one of Britain's top
landscape photographers. Including Weather For The Week Ahead at 11.55am.

Probably missed the point here, but who cares :-)

Well as they won't have to bother describing Sunday's weather cos
there won't be any, they can go straight onto Monday and thus have
time for a more detailed forecast for the rest of the week

Maybe I've missed something, but what's the link between seismic and
meteorological activity. Any papers you can refer me to?

Try 'The Daily Mail'.

The problems they have had F/Casting the Weather this W/E
probably explains the reason for not putting the F/Cast up
earlier this week - see my posting below done on Weds 23rd

On Thurs/Fri R4+ Beeb1 eve and late eve F/Cast have been
a bit of a joke - albeit on one/two occasions they have said
there not too sure about the weather this W/E - they finally
opted for heavy rain in the south/SE today .So far today I have
seen 3 light showers, Pavement/roads currently dry . Is
the 'heavy' stuff on its way ?
cheers JRM

An article in Nature -- must have been February/March-edition, will
have a search -- tells about a researched positive correlation between
melting snow in the Japanese mountains during springtime and seismic
activity. As the winter-snowcover can grow so heavy it presses the
upper-earth layer. When snow melts cracks can appear in the earth's
crust while the upper-layer resets. A lovely scenario for
earth-tremor. But that's the only link (so far) between meteorology and
seismic activity I ever heard/ read of. (Except for Michael's posts in
this NG now and then :-). )

That's very interesting, Wijke. But seismic (not volcanic, i.e. Pinatubo)
activity leading to a change in the weather?

Cheers
Richard

Nope, Richard, never read/heard about that effects; and afaik there is no
scientific proof of such a correlation either.
In the Nature's article about the Japanese springtime mountains its the
other way around -- raising temperature causes indirectly, via melting snow,
seismic activity. Makes me think of the breaking rocks of the Matterhorn; it
could be linked to that in a similar direction :-).

13 JULY 19:21 =7:21 pm.
21 JULY 07:01
29 JULY 06:53
05 AUG. 07:28 Knowing what I know now this should have brought a ridge or trough or something of that ilk.

12 AUG. 04:48. This should bring fine at last or if it continues wet
there will be a faily large quake soon after the 27th Aug. But if that

And of course not one of you found a discrepancy there that would have
given me this:
August 21 -- South Island of New Zealand -- 7.2M

Serves me right for not looking at what I was doing! Mind you I'd had
peritonitis for a few months and was in hospital while all this was
going on. (That's my excuse anyway.)
