I've had my buzz for the next 12 months.

Time to look forward to those warm evening's with the BBQ's going and those
light shows.

It seems to show mild westerlies. No doubt it's been updated since you
looked at it.

In a rather different context, I note from my provisional
monthly assessment of January's mean sea-level pressure
that the Icelandic low is displaced way southwest of its
normal position, just NE of Newfoundland, and that
the mean monthly pressure south of Newfoundland is
averaging 16 mbar below normal. On the rare occasions
this has happened before in Dec, Jan or Feb it seems to
be a precursor (though not immediately) to a major and
prolonged blocking episode over the NEAtlantic/WEurope
sector.

It has!

Mine showed a nice looking northerly with a Greenland high
extending southwards.

Cheated again :)

An interesting observation Philip, I'm sure there will be some truth
in that over the coming weeks/months, I wonder where/when it would
sit. Of course this won't help any water shortages as we draw closer
to the equinox in March.
