Default Greek Islands snow cover - Modis image.

I guess Yannis will be able to identify the snow-covered islands bit I
can see Thasos, in the N Aegean snow-covered. Limnos and Lesbos in
the Eastern Aegean have snow cover but cloud is obscuring much of it.
The more Southern Islands of the E Aegean are largely snow-free but
some of the Cyclades are snow covered as is Crete.

Thanks for the link, JPG. Limnos is experiencing a very harsh winter indeed.
The explosive cyclogenesis over the Aegean in late January had brought
numerous problems to the island itself.

Other areas I can see on this map include the E/SE outskirts of Thessaloniki
(part of the Chalkidiki peninsula and Ag. Oros), all visible mountains of
continental Greece, Corinth and much of the Peloponnese (especially Arcadia,
Corinth and Argolis), and numerous islands, including Kea (Tzia), Yaros,
Sifnos, Serifos, Paros, Antiparos and Milos. Lovely SE tip of Evia, too, all
white to the beaches.

Yannis, SE Athens
much milder, +6.6C, water supply back to normal
