From the Met Office page for SE England

Today
Rather cloudy but some sunny spells. Heavy showers in the east fading later.
Light northerly breeze. Maximum temperature 14 deg C (57 deg F). Seems spot
on to me.

Cheers Sean

Not according to the TV forecast last night on the BBC - the local
forecast said sunny intervals in the morning with the chance of a light
rogue shower in the afternoon; the national forecast had a "light
showers with sunny intervals" symbol, but gave the impression that the
showers today would be the exception rather than the rule. It's been
raining constantly since I woke up!

Thats cheating, its far easier to make a forecast for the day ahead on the
day
than it is for them to make one for tomorrow. So ofcause thats spot on
unlike there forecast yesterday!

Glorious sunshine again here. Warmest day of the year yesterday (16.8) and
it looks like being at least as warm today..
Cloudless at the moment (09:20), and hopefully it will stay that way right
on the coast.

There is a world away from the SE.

Was woken up last night with that surprising rain, which amounted to
5.0mm recorded. Excellent growing weather, suns shining now here in
Southend-on-Sea.

Appears to have been raining here since about 8 / 9pm last night ( or there
abouts ). Sun now breaking through, so hopefully the rest of the day will
be better. I had been expecting fair weather for most of the coming week,
or at least that's what Sunday's Country File had been suggesting!

These showers must be confined to the extreme southeast, it seems to me.
Here at Warlingham, NE Surrey I measured 0.1 mm this morning from a light
shower about 3 a.m. This morning there has been nothing more sinister than
light Sc though some moderate Cu is now starting to develop.

When I looked out of the window at 7am this morning, it was really chucking
it down. Our patio area was almost completely under water! Cowstead Corner
roundabout was under water!, that's on the main road from Leysdown to
Sheerness A249 junction with the B2231.
