Default lunar eclipse

So what the chances of a clear night tonight to see the lunar eclipse? Fat
chance or slim chance?

Cheers.

looks up
Hmmmm... slim.
Depends where you are though! Actually, here (south lincs) there are some
clear breaks in the cloud, but the clouds that do appear are big black wet
ones!

Norfolk. Sky clearing quite a bit now from the black clouds and deluges of
earlier today. With a bit of luck the gods may be in a kind mood and let me see
the lunar eclipse. One can but hope!

Cheers.

Fife - low cloud, no breaks, but it can't be really thick as it's not
made it very dark out. Sunset is a couple of minutes or so before 9pm,
so who knows? It's thinner cloud than earlier when there was thunder,
enough of a power cut to reboot the PC and some *very* heavy rain!

But now the cloud is thicker & it looks like rain under the big dark one
I can see out of the window. :-(

OTOH there is a nice low tide at my favourite beach on Thursday morning
- 0.4 above Chart Datum.

I've just been out to try to grab a photo. I didn't get much time as
it's just started raining. But I did get one reasonable photo (if you
don't mind the poor focusing - I literally had enough time to set up
before the clouds came over)

The sky here has cleared dramatically after today's hail and thunder,
and the moon is indeed a beautiful orange colour, but there is still a
surprising amount of light in the sky so it is a bit muted.

Thank you, I appreciate that.

I've actually managed to see the thing for real with my own beady eye. I've
just come back from dragging the teenage offspring out into the garden and
telling him to cast his gaze to the heavens to see one of Nature's great
sights. I then had to explain what a lunar eclipse is.

Cheers.
