Yes. Despite my perhaps frivolous response. Though it probably makes more sense only for the last 7-10 days given the fickleness of weather. .... I'll make a start this Monday (15 days away as the GFS comes into range), but only in this newsgroup at first. As we get nearer, then I'll cross post to uk.sci.astronomy: not going to try anything too fancy - at least at first, just a general look at how the models are dealing with things. If anyone else wants to pitch in, please do - it will be an interesting forecasting exercise whatever the outcome. (PS: I'll start a new thread ... something like: "Forecast discussion: Venus transit 2004 Jun 08") Martin. -- FAQ & Glossary for uk.sci.weather at:- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/booty.weather/uswfaqfr.htm |

Not much enthusiasm at the time so I don't want to start off unless it would be useful to anyone. It would just be a 'discussion' trying to give a broad idea of cloudiness etc., and I would undertake to update at least once per day - only from GFS in the early days, but bringing other models in nearer the time. Well I would be interested in it for one, cos I'm gonna be in charge of one such observing event on the day! In fact, if it ain't too much trouble, an email of it might be nice! -- Rob President - Hull & East Riding AS |
