Hot and dry weather in summer is one reason why I am glad to have left the SE
!!! It's brilliant not to have to worry about watering the garden now.

It all looks absolutely horrible! :-(

Agreed. :-(((

Fascinating!

When snow and ice is forecast, many here welcome such forecasts with
glee, despite the disruption, accidents and severe discomfort and

danger
for the elderly that will happen because of it! Why not do the same

for
sun and heat?

I only find heat a problem if the humidity is high which was not the
case today with the RH value as low as 23% with a maximum of 29.9°C. The
temperatures forecast undoubtedly will cause problems for some but warm
dry weather is one of the reasons I like living in the south east.

Because it melts the climbs...

Seriously, It is easy do do something about cold weather - There are
only so many layers you can take off when it is foul like today.

Also those of us who enjoy winters are probably not in the market for
vile English summer weather.

Give me the heavy snowfalls we had earlier this year (a few inches in an
hour?) and I'll be happy...

I would certainly feel guilty if I thought that the childish delight
that I still take in snow could in any way influence the weather. Since
the weather isn't going to change whatever my attitude, I feel free to
enjoy it.

Because very hot weather, though of great meteorological interest, is
too damn uncomfortable. It's easier to keep warm in cold weather than it
is to keep cool in hot weather.

BTW, if you look at the morbidity statistics, I think you'll find that
nowadays there's a bigger rise in the death rate caused by extreme heat
than by extreme cold.
