When I looked out about 0100z I thought it looked like a likely night
for noctilucent cloud but didn't see any.

Noctilucent Cloud Event

The main event had faded rapidly by 0023z, shortly after I took the
pictures. The whole northern sky was full of nlc type i from 0 degrees to
090 degrees at 0z with some elements seen as high as Capella, the knotty
stuff appeared at around 0010. The photograph shows more than what could be
resolved with the naked eye - the original report sent to Tom Mcewan at
0010z was of types i,ii,S only.
