I have been astounded by the show of sympathy and all the kind thoughts
posted in these two news groups. I have to thank both Linda and MCC for
posting the dreadful news about what has befallen my family.

It was only last Tuesday that Wendy was going to an A level meeting in
Belfast. She was leaving about 8am - I gave her a kiss, saw her drive onto
the road, waved her goodbye and she smiled back. She phoned me at the
start of the meeting to say she was safely there. At lunchtime she rang
again to say the day was going well and at around 3.45 she phoned to say
she was leaving and at 4.45 there was a cup of tea waiting for her. She
got to about 4 miles from home when the dreadful accident happened. Why
her car moved into traffic coming in the opposite direction is still
baffling both us and the police.

I have been wonderfully supported by both my brothers - both took a part in
the funeral service - and my children and so many *good* people who have
fed us continually and visited us.

What has really surprised me is the degree of support and comfort I found
by reading the posts in these groups from such clearly caring people.
Often the tears were pouring down my face as I read some lovely thoughts
and sentiments. We are so aware of the dark side of the Internet - I saw
the powerful good side at this sad time.

My younger brother, Peter, who is a C of E priest took much of the funeral
service and his twin, Colin (who lost his wife Lynda at Christmas aged 55)
read words that Wendy had read only six months earlier at Lynda's funeral.
