Can anyone confirm the heavy rain over East Anglia or is the radar playing
up. I have taken a look a the sferic on the Met Office site and nothing appears to be showing plus the radar sequence does appear to be rather strange Thanks Chris Kempston Bedford. |

Its Anaprop unfortuately - so not heavy rain - the FAQ for this newsgroup

Thanks, I will remove the sandbags from the front door and bring the

When the temperature and / or the humidity changes sharply with height, a mirage effect bends the beam and normally invisible objects intrude into the return. Classic examples occur when nocturnal cooling is especially strong; with sea-breezes where cool, marine air undercuts warm / dry land air, and with the similar cool undercutting downdraughts from well-organised mesoscale convective clusters. Be aware though that in extreme cases, even the filtering applied may allow some anomalous echoes through. Steve |
