Bother and blast I seemed to have missed a major storm this afternoon as
we were in Southampton. While we were there I commented to my friend that a major storm was building up, little did I know it was going to hit home. Neighbours are full of talk of water lapping up against doors and lots of lightening. I found a drain cover in the middle of my drive (where did that come from?) Water butt was blown over. The poor tortoise Im holiday sitting seems to have gone into shock. Neighbour with a rain gauge reported 37mm in less than an hour. I cant believe I missed it :((((( Sarah H |

Some of the heaviest rain I've seen. I'd say the rain was 'very heavy' for a good 30 minutes. Some strong gusts associated with it too. -- Brian Wakem (Also in Fleet) |
