Whats happened in the last couple of weeks that has brought out the wasps -
not only the standard UK ones, but there seem to be some of the Mediteranean types that are half the body size and seem to be particularly dopy ? Phil -- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phil.layton/meteo.htm |

Phil -- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phil.layton/meteo.htm I came home today after work and I was about to report the same. After a few weeks of them impeding my goings-on I wondered if anybody else was being affected. Thanks for mentioning it, Phil. ATB, Joe |

Certainly a lot of wasps about in my little bit of heaven on earth - yes, wasps, not hoverflies, easy to tell the difference. Lots of hoverflies too mind you - and very few greenfly :-) Cheers. --This is an invalid email address to avoid spam-- to get correct one remove fame & fortune **$om $ --Due to financial crisis the light at the end of the tunnel is switched off-- |

These 'Mediterranean' jobs along with the regular British yellow and black
things (and huge bumblebees, hoverflies with the occasional hornet thrown in) are precipitating any number of highland flings at my workplace in Peterlee... any entomologists (?) got a handle on them ?? Gonna be a bad year for wasps. Les -- Les Crossan, Wallsend, Tyne & Wear 55N 01-30W, Home of the Wallsend Stormcam - http://www.uksevereweather.org.uk "Phil Layton" wrote in message ... Phil .......a couple of them stung me in the mouth last week! (Standard British Wasps as I recall)-yes, I know, many lessons to be learned from that event. A couple of their smaller mates (Hoverflies I believe) accompanied me on a flight in the glider as well. Yeah, and because it's so hot all the windows are wide open so the little bu88ers come flying into the house all the time. Not to mention the swallow that popped in for a flying visit to my office this morning! ally |
