Default Record highest UK minimum?

A minimum of 21.1c here in Warden Bay, North Kent.
When I went to bed last night at around midnight it was 24.3c
The rain, what there was of it lasted for all of about 20 minutes. The
garden is now bone dry again.

Thought this

23.9ºC at Brighton on 4th August 1990. (Last year's highest
was 23.7ºC at Guernsey airport on 5th August 2003, but of
course that is not the United Kingdom).

4th August 1994 still remains as recording the highest Aug min of 19.9C at
my station in 25 year record. Last night here in Coulsdon 19.4C. Slight
overnight thunderstorm made it the 23rd day with thunder heard this year.

Dave, S.Essex.
Incidentally no sign of rain on that loop.

Curious, when the "night" doesn't end for another half an hour!

And if that sounds like nit-picking, previous records are based
on 09-09 and in some cases 21-09 observation periods, and
ya gotta compare like with like. I remember one night in
August 1975 when I was an observer in Birmingham ... the
min at the 06z ob was 23C and I rang the Evening Mail to tell
them of the new 'record', only to get into trouble because it
started to rain about 0730 and the official min at 09z was
just 20C.

Highest min I've seen is 21.9 at RAF Marham, Norfolk.
Undoubtedly a few local records have gone, and I wonder
about the Scottish one ... 19.5ºC at Aviemore looks very
high for north of the border.

We only managed a low of 13 here, so fairly 'normal'.
No rain but the wind is up a bit and the haar has stayed offshore - blue
skies, fluffy white clouds, and lots of lovely sunshine ... might pass the
20 mark again today (:

We recorded an overnight minimum of 19.5C here in Coventry, making this
the warmest night on record in the city - records date back to 1892.

The previous high was 19.4C in 1997.

For the record, Sunday was the hottest day of 2004 so far up here with
a maximum of 30.2C - hot humid and breezy.

Min last night in York hovered between 21 and 22 - warmest night I can
recall some time. Temp fell in rain after dawn. Interesting Temp graph on
York Uni site ... temp *rising* in early hours of morning from 21 to just
over 22C.

Minimum last night of 20C, that was at 7.30 this morning after the rain
started. Before then it was 22C, that maybe counted in some quarters as

the
minimum.

A basic search, incomplete, threw up a couple of 20.0ºC
minima (recorded as 68ºF), so no Scottish record either,
unless a climat. station comes up with something better later
on.

With all these easterlies I'm missing the smell of the distilleries south and
west of here (
