Has been raining all night with varying intensity. Downpours at various
times, like at the moment. I would have thought we are in for some flooding. I think the river Calder must be runing high. Not seen rain of this intensity here for a long time. Complete washout, with more rain than I was expecting for this location. |

Local roads flooded. Drove up from London yesterday after hols in Italy and what a welcome home. London was dry at 3pm, taxi driver said they had had no rain. Most of journey on M1 north was in torrential rain, and here in Leeds it's not stopped since I arrived back. This really is prolonged and very heavy rain. Strange and disappointing - no thunder. BrianT BrainT True, no thunder. There was thunder about in the system earlier, because I could hear sferics, but as the night wore on it must have subsided somewhat. Sill raining here and I would think it will remain for the next two or three hours looking at BBC radar. |
