Default Meteorologica lightning detection accuracy?

Does anyone know just how accurate the data on this page is? I'm in the East
Midlands about half way between Leicester and Peterborough. Have been
hearing several rumbles of thunder for about 5 - 10 mins. Looks like a storm
is moving over from Leicester direction. Yet this is what the site displayed
at the time.

It seems variable to me. It was spot-on on Wednesday, the thunderstorm
arrived here just when that page said it would. But a couple of weeks
ago, we were in the middle of a storm which the page was showing about
100 miles away. But it had got the direction from Blackpool correct, so
rather like your example here.

The Sandhurst one never seems to show anything in this area - perhaps
300 miles is beyond its operational range?

I find that water effects the ranging of the units. Some storms my plots are
almost spot on and others are quite out for a while and then as you detect
more strikes it gets better but never spot on. The software helps,
Meteorologica use Nexstorm and I have as well in the past, I moved over to
L2K and find it better in some ways on its plots. You will never get spot on
with a single antenna system. Its best to use several sites and compare the
positions and get an average.

I know some places combine data to get better results, maybe the Boltek
users on here should work out a good way to combine data to help us all.
