Wireless Weather Satations Info?
 

Hi,
I know I may be opening a can of worms here, but any advice on good Wireless
Weather Stations greatly appreciated for my sons birthday, have been looking
at the La Crosse 2300 and 2500 models.
If not any other newsgroups that might be able to advise.
He wants something to grow into so he wants the more 'expensive' models
(he's 27).
Any advice greatly appreciated - I will be flying to NY next month and will
buy it there their model is the WS2510 any differences between this and the
UK model (apart from power adaptor)?

Watch the frequency that it operates on. The US version may well use a
different one to the UK one and if so will almost certainly be
"illegal" to use in the UK. You *may* get away with it or you could
find that the some local Tx is on the same or similar frequency that
stops in dead. Not to mention a visit from the RA and confiscation of
the kit...

Bear in mind when comparing US and UK prices that you may have to pay
VAT on entry to the UK. (I don't know whether VAT is payable on this
class of goods or not.)

i myself have the La Crosse WS2300 and i've found it to be a very good
system. The data it provides is pretty accurate. This is my first weather
station and i have found it pretty easy to use and set up.
