Has anyone actually turned theirs on yet ? I'd hate to be the first...but
admit I'm thinking about it, and surprised that my wife and 3 daughters
havent....

I've started wearing nightclothes again. But no heating yet. I sleep better with
frost on the inside of the window panes.

It was a close thing tonight. The two male teens both whinged about
being cold at dinnertime - whilst sitting there in their shirts. Made
'em put jumpers on!

I don't think it'll be long before I have to throw the switch and turn
the rads on

Don't turn it off off, let the thermostat look after it. The heating
has been kicking in quite a bit for the last week and a half.
Reflected in oil consumption from the summer HW only of 1cm/week(*) to
2.5cm last week. Peak winter consumption is 7 to 8cm...

Already posted last nights min of 2.3C and ground frost in the valley.
Still above 5C tonight.

(*) How far the oil drops in the tanks sight tube over a week.
