Perhaps he is now reflecting upon the havoc he has caused, but perhaps he just sees it a publicity. You're correct people should be accountable there should be an offence of forecasting without due care and attention, or reckless forecasting. People who make forecasts should be accountable otherwise how do we trust what they say So? Heating oil doesn't go bad, does it? In any case there could be a commercial penalty for continually issuing bad forecasts. If forecasters could be sued for their mistakes they would simply issue forecasts that cover everything and thus be meaningless. Or they could insure themselves, which is expensive, and there'd be fewer forecasters. Let the user beware! Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |
