The recent flood here has all the hallmarks of a group of very nasty Internet trolls that call themselves "Tykesground". They work out of a Yahoo Group named, not surprisingly, Tykesground and have ruined many other usenet groups over the past five years or so. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Tykesground The best advice I can give is not to antagonise them as they have been known to repeatedly email bomb anyone who criticises them. Joe. Evidence Joe? This is a nasty troll fabrication. uk.local.yorkshire tried to stand up to trolls, and when it got too much, they did indeed form the Yahoo group to provide a non-Troll haven, and the troll groups don't like it cos they can't disrupt that. Plus the recent formation of uk.local.yorkshire.moderated has really got up the trolls noses as well, they can't disrupt that either to any great extent. I am a Tykesgrounder, and proud of it... Believe ye not the trolls that say this flood is coming out of there, its a well known troll tactic to divert the focus away from themselves onto someone else. -- Rob Overfield Hull http://www.astrosport02.karoo.net/YorkshireWeather/ |

You are indeed quite correct, David. Many, if not all, of these "Tykesground" trolls originated from the uk.local.yorkshire newsgroup. But, as I've said previously, it's not really a good idea to discuss them too much here for fear or their nasty reprisals. Evidence Joe? Headers, emails, etc. Accusations like that are not a good idea. Please read my previous post, you have been very sadly misled... -- Rob Overfield Hull http://www.astrosport02.karoo.net/YorkshireWeather/ |

I don't fear nasty reprisals, because people can be tracked no matter
how good they think they are If they go too far, then ISP's will be informed, if they still continue, then there is the possibility of taking legal action This is a form of electronic terrorism. People should not fear sad people that have no lives. I post from a dummy email address that i don't use anymore. They can bomb all they like. I'll have fun tracking and tracing them :-) |

I will go so far as to say that I don't believe anyone from the Tykesground group will be behind any of this. I know everyone in that group and most of them are anti-spam, in any form. Joe, unless you have proper evidence to back up your claim, I suggest you either shut up or apologise. What Joe hasn't said is that a similar Yahoo group, uk.local.trolls, was removed by Yahoo as it was contrary to Yahoo rules. -- Rob Overfield Hull http://www.astrosport02.karoo.net/YorkshireWeather/ |
