Great idea, but who would find the time to look after such a busy
newsgroup as this one?

Not the OP obviously, he has only made one previous post to any usenet
group.

You can start a Google group fairly easily. Allowing any member to post
would be enough moderation if you retained the power to remove abusers.

It would require an abrasive owner with a lot of patience though.
(I.e = oxymoronic.)

People that have retired early.

Seriously though, .....

I didn't retire early totally out of choice. Various aspects of European
law meant that I couldn't fly over eg France, after the age of 60. In any
case, is 60 early for retirement? Out of curiosity, what age do you Met
Office people have to pack it in?

But being serious again, there are two ways that people react to retirement.
They either do nothing and drop dead after a few years or become so busy
that they wonder how they managed to fit everything in while they were still
at work.

Anyway, you have made me rethink about my retirement. Maybe I should see if
I can retrain as a Catholic priest.
Note guys. I hadn't mentioned "that" matter so dear to my heart for well
over a month now:-)

OK, I should have looked before I asked. So they're pretty much the same
as Yahoo groups then?
