Default Minus Five (Centimetres)

So what is todays excuse?
Here in South Essex nothing more than light occasionally sleety rain.
Its quite obvious that one again its a load of media hype, as it always is.
I think we can start having the post mortem as soon as they start to
forecast snow in future.

Regards. Len.

No, no, you are wrong. Your eyes deceive you. You had between 10 and
30 centimetres of snow. The BBC link just posted by Henley proves it!
http://tinypic.com/1tnar7

They also had 10 cm in Colchester - the Met Office link posted by Jon
earlier proves it!

You really must learn how to *observe* accurately... leave it to the
professionals!

Also, i've not heard the city heat island effect discussed yet

I realise it doesn't explain everything

Rain was reported in Leeds earlier

Snow reported in Sheffield City Centre (Higher Elevation) but wet stuff
even there. Nearby countryside at similiar elevation = white landscape

London, goes without saying

Always allow for temperatures to be 2 or 3C higher in the cities

Makes all the difference on a day like today

I was in Colchester this morning and there WAS NO SNOW! As I said earlier,
someone has fed the Met Office duff information.
